The Las Hayas Hotel is a first class hotel with 93 guest rooms and suites located in a natural forest of beeches (hayas) below the glacier Le Martial, 2.5 km from Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. The "gourmet" restaurant, Le Martial, offers fresh seafood and has a fabulous view of the Beagle Channel. The Drake Restaurant is a more informal option for breakfast and light meals. This restaurant extends in a winter garden, with natural vegetation and offers a spectacular view of the sky through its glass ceiling. The lobby lounge and different seating areas provide cozy and comfortably decorated places to be at the hotel. A warm fireplace, a library with paperbacks in different languages, and also a game room are different options to enjoy after excursions. The hotel leisure activities include a health club, featuring a complete gym, two saunas, Jacuzzi, steam bath, Scottish shower, and beauty treatments. There is also an indoor heated swimming pool with a jet stream. This pool bottom is actually rock of the mountain. A squash court completes the sports activities. Near the hotel, you will be able to go trekking in the forest paths and you can practice different sports like cross country skiing, horseback riding, and fly fishing. The downhill skiing resort, Cerro Castor, is located 26 km from Ushuaia and the ski season runs from mid June until early October. The hotel has six meeting rooms of different sizes and one major banquet room for up to 1000 people.
